I'm curious about how to add color to wood while still allowing its natural grain to show through. I've tried mixing acrylic paint with a bit of water, but I'm wondering if there's a better method out there. I'm familiar with wood stains, but I'm looking for other options. Any suggestions?

Check out milk paint! It's a powder you mix with water, and you can control the color by adjusting the water ratio. For instance, using 1 part powder to 2 parts water keeps the wood grain visible. Just remember, the more water you add, the softer the color. I did a test on basswood, and it turned out great!

This looks really good, I like it. I might try it. Thank you!
