Hey fellow gardeners! I'm in zone 7b and I recently planted a pea plant outside. Despite some chilly nights dipping into the 20s, the little guy is still hanging on! I'm curious if anyone else has started planting anything outdoors yet, particularly lettuce or other cool-weather crops. What has your experience been like?

I’m holding out a bit longer before planting. I plan to direct sow cold-tolerant seeds like peas, radishes, and lettuce in a couple of weeks. Any seedlings I’m starting inside will wait until the end of March to transplant. We're experiencing a fake spring right now, and I expect another chilly spell soon!

That makes sense! I'll probably transplant my brassicas later this month too. I figured if I put lettuce seeds out now, they wouldn't germinate until the weather warms up anyway. I'm just going to experiment with it since I have plenty of backups growing inside!
