Hey everyone! I'm just getting started with indoor gardening and I need some advice on choosing the right grow lights for my shelves. Each of my shelves is about one foot tall and 19"x9" wide. I can fit a 2-foot grow light if necessary, but I've heard some mixed reviews about Barrina lights. I'm looking to grow a mix of plants, including both low and high light varieties. Any recommendations would be super helpful!

I’ve used four 4-foot Barrina lights and they’ve been great for keeping my pepper plants thriving until they go outside. I usually have two lights per shelf, and they really blast out the light. Just make sure whatever light you choose is full spectrum and not just that purple blurple kind. Overall, you can't go wrong if you stick to solid recommendations from fellow gardeners!
You might want to consider the Feit brand too. They have handy options where you can daisy chain multiple units, which is perfect for those light-hungry plants. I’ve got their 1-foot and 2-foot vertical mount bars, plus an 8-inch round clamp light, and they've all performed excellently for the few months I’ve used them.
What kind of negative feedback have you come across about the Barrina lights? I've been using their 1-foot T5 lights in my setup and haven’t had any issues at all!
You'll always find some criticism about hobbyist lights, but honestly, the Barrina ones are pretty reliable. They don't shock you or pose fire risks like some low-cost lights do. They provide good light, but just remember to overlap them for better coverage!

Agreed! I have five of those bars at the top of my IKEA cabinet and they give off a ton of light. They’re affordable and come as kits, which is super convenient. They might struggle on their own, but they definitely do the job when used in a setup!
