I'm currently making great strides with the many free and paid video resources out there for furniture making. However, I'm keen on a more hands-on approach with a live instructor where I can actively participate. The challenge is that I'm unable to travel to a physical classroom. I've already looked into local resources like stores and community colleges.
So, I'm wondering if there are any live, remote classes available—preferably not just pre-recorded videos but something interactive on a platform like Zoom? Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I've noticed that there aren't a ton of options for live online furniture-making classes. The Austin School of Woodworking used to offer them, but they don't have any available at the moment. You might want to check out The Wood Whisperer's Guild. They let you ask questions during the class, which could be helpful, although it’s more of a video series. The live settings were more common during the pandemic, but many have shifted back to recorded formats, which is a bummer for interactive learning.
If you’re looking for something super interactive with live feedback, you might want to consider smaller workshops. Sometimes local artisans or craftsmen host live sessions via platforms like Zoom. They can be hit or miss, but it’s worth checking events on social media or forums where woodworkers gather.
That's a good idea! I’ll start looking for workshops like that. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks for the tips! I actually reached out to the Austin School of Furniture to see if they'd be offering classes again, but they told me they don't have plans for online sessions. They did point me toward Gary Rogowski at Northwest Woodworking, who has an online mastery course, which I'm looking into!
