How Can I Keep Rabbits Out of My Garden?

I'm having a real issue with rabbits in my garden. Last year they caused a lot of damage, and this year they're already munching on my violets. I've tried raising some plants in beds and I'm experimenting with chicken wire, but I'm hesitant to fence in the entire garden. What effective methods have others used to keep rabbits away?

If you're feeling a bit more hands-on, you could set up some traps or even use a BB gun if that's allowed in your area. Just be sure to check the regulations! I read they’re usually out in the early morning hours.

At the end of the day, fencing really is one of the best solutions. It sounds boring, but it’s super effective if done right!

Honestly, chicken wire isn't going to cut it. Rabbits can chew right through it! You’ll want to invest in half-inch hardware cloth instead. It’s tough enough to keep them out. Also, I’ve found that blood meal can help, but it’s pretty smelly and needs to be reapplied after rain.

I've heard that too! Just make sure to keep it fresh, or it won't do much.
