I just received a quote of a little over $8,000 from a company called Gutter Guys for replacing gutters on my 4,000 sqft home. The quote includes: 1) removing the old gutters and checking the fascia boards, 2) installing 220 feet of 6" K-style aluminum seamless gutters, 3) installing 100 feet of 3x4 aluminum downspouts with necessary extensions, and 4) adding gutter guards. I'm a first-time homeowner and this is my first experience with gutter replacement. What do you think about the pricing?

That seems a bit high to me. I haven't been in the gutter business for a while, but generally, 6-inch gutters are not always necessary. You might want to check online calculators to see the right number of downspouts needed for your house size to ensure you're getting a fair deal. It's worth comparing prices.
Since you're in CT with lots of trees and heavy rain/snow, the quote might be reasonable given the extra protection you need. But still, getting more estimates is a smart move to make sure you're getting the best price.

Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely looking at other options and will check out those calculators.
