Feeling Discouraged in Woodworking: How Do You Find Your Wins?

I've been back in woodworking for about two months now after rejoining a local shop, but I'm feeling pretty down because I haven't finished a single project yet. I'm working on a simple shelf and a plant stand, but everything is moving really slowly due to some tool issues and my own skill gaps. I really enjoy woodworking, but the progress is frustrating. How do you cope with slow progress and find small victories?

It sounds like you’re in a tough spot, but don’t let that discourage you too much! Woodworking takes a lot of practice, and sometimes things just take longer than expected. Maybe try to make the most of your shop time by focusing on small tasks each visit. And don’t forget, the more you practice, the better you’ll get!

Yeah, definitely! Perhaps look into building a basic workbench at home if the shop hours are limiting you. That way, you can work on your projects whenever you have some free time.
