I'm thinking about getting a 20v max hedge trimmer and a 20v string trimmer for some yard work. I do about 45 minutes to an hour of trimming 3-4 times a year and trim my hedges for about an hour 2-3 times a year as well. I've been browsing reviews, but I'm really struggling to find specific answers about battery life. When they say it lasts for two charges, how much area are we talking about? Is that for a small yard or something much bigger?

I've used both 20v and 60v trimmers. The 20v with a 5ah battery gives me about half an hour, but I did find it a bit underpowered for my needs. I have a 1/2 acre yard, so I switched to the 60v since I found a great deal. With it, I can trim for about half an hour before I switch the battery and do some cleanup.
From my experience, a 5ah battery on the 20v string trimmer lasts about 30 minutes. If you opt for the bigger flexvolt model, you can expect it to go for about 45 minutes to an hour. Honestly, I switched to electric and I don’t plan on going back to gas—it’s just so much easier!

Solid call! I have 5 acres with a long fence line and I prefer using the 60v too. It definitely handles my trimming better than my old push-behind.
