Hey everyone! I'm trying to create a budget-friendly patio area using wood pallets since I'm currently renting and want to avoid any major renovations. My plan is to sand down the pallets and then apply peel and stick tiles for a nicer surface to walk on. I understand this might not be super durable, but I would be happy if it lasts a year or two. I'm new to DIY projects, so I'm unsure if this approach will actually work. Any advice or suggestions would be really helpful!

Putting peel and stick tiles directly on pallets might not be the best move because of the gaps between the slats. You'd need a more solid base first, like a sheet of plywood or particle board, to support the tiles. Honestly, even with that, it might just be a temporary fix, but if you're fine with potentially having to redo it in the future, go for it!

Thanks for the input! Can you explain a bit more about why it would be a bad idea even with plywood or something solid on top?
