What are some cat-friendly hanging plants for my new apartment?

I just moved to a new apartment and I'm looking to add some greenery to my space. I want to hang some plants by the balcony windows, but I'm concerned about my cat eating any fallen leaves. Can anyone suggest some safe, beginner-friendly hanging plants that won't harm my cat?

Burro tails are a fun choice too! They have this cute, chunky appearance that's really appealing. Definitely check those out!

Just googled burro tails and wow, they look so chonky! I think I’m sold!

You should go for spider plants! They’re super easy to take care of, thrive in hanging pots, and are totally safe for cats. Plus, they look great!

I love the look of spider plants! They really bring that jungle-y vibe, which fits my boho decor perfectly.

You might also want to consider Hoyas. They’d really enjoy that spot by the windows and even bloom when they’re mature. They need a bit of setup with better draining soil, but after that, they pretty much take care of themselves. Pothos or heart-leaf philodendrons are also options; they're mildly toxic but usually don’t drop leaves unless they’re not healthy.

I’m up for putting in some work to keep them alive! What exactly is ‘chunky soil’? I keep seeing that term.
