What’s the Going Rate for Gardeners in the Southwest?

I'm looking to hire a gardener for my front and medium-sized back garden. I want someone who knows how to properly cut hedges based on the plant type. A gardening company I've met with quoted me £350 for half a day's work with two gardeners, including waste removal. That price seems a bit high to me based on my research. Can anyone share what a fair hourly or daily rate would be in the Southwest? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I usually charge £30 per hour for gardening, and recently raised my rates because I have level three horticulture qualifications. It includes proper waste removal too, which is essential for a clean job.

Thanks for letting me know! This sounds like a more competitive price. Do you include waste removal in that rate?

I think £350 for a team of two and waste removal is reasonable, considering the skill involved. It's a labor-intensive job, and having your own tools included is a bonus. They should be able to tackle both gardens efficiently.

Thank you! Very true.

In the Southwest, my parents pay their gardener around £25 an hour, which sounds more reasonable compared to what you were quoted. That price is pretty standard for decent work around here.

That's more in line with what I’ve read. Does that include waste removal?
