I recently had a new fence installed in my backyard, but there's a big issue: whenever the wind blows, the gate swings open. It looks like the wind is flexing the gate so much that the pin slips out of the latch. I think if the latch had a longer pin or maybe an L-shaped pin, it would prevent this from happening. My question is whether I, as the homeowner, should take care of this problem, or is that something the fencing company should handle? It seems strange that we're the only ones in the neighborhood experiencing this issue.

Definitely reach out to the fencing company that installed your gate. They should be willing to help if they care about customer satisfaction. If they say they fixed it, but you're still having problems, it's worth having them come out again to take another look. You’ve already invested a lot in that fence, so don’t hesitate to ask for further assistance!
I totally get your frustration. It's definitely disappointing to deal with issues after paying for a new fence. However, if the company doesn’t make it right, you might just have to DIY a fix. It sounds like a simple enough problem, but you shouldn't have to fix something you just paid them to do! Just make sure you document everything in case you decide to take further action later on.
I think it’s a bit of both here. Homeowners sometimes have to step in when contractors don’t prioritize small fixes, but if this is a fault in the installation, the company should take care of it. Since you’ve already tried contacting them and it didn’t work, you could always leave feedback about your experience and see if that prompts them to respond better this time.
