How to Care for My Money Tree in a Pot Without Drainage?

I just got a money tree for my home, and I was following the potting instructions from a website. However, the pot I used doesn't have a drainage hole, and I've read that it's not good for the plant to sit in standing water. What are some effective ways to prevent water from accumulating without a drainage hole?

Alternatively, consider using a moisture meter to check the soil's wetness. That way, you can be more confident about when to water without guessing. If it seems too risky with the pot you have, you might think about repotting into one that has drainage holes!

If you've potted your money tree straight into a pot without drainage, it can be tricky! One way to prevent standing water is to ensure you're not overwatering. Let the top inch of the soil dry out between waterings. It might also help to add some stones or pebbles at the bottom of the pot to create a bit of space for excess water to settle without sitting directly in the soil.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try to keep an eye on the watering. Adding stones sounds like a good idea.
