How much should I expect to pay for installing a new vanity?

I recently bought a new vanity and am considering hiring a professional plumber for the installation and removal of the old one. Is it necessary to hire a licensed plumber for this job? Also, what's the typical cost for such a service? I'm wondering if $500 is an excessive amount to pay for it.

Honestly, you might not need a plumber for this unless there are major issues. I did it myself and had a few hiccups, but if you're careful with buying a vanity that matches your existing plumbing, you should be fine. Just make sure it’s stable against the wall or floor if it’s not freestanding!

A plumber is likely to charge more than $500 for this type of work. It's not super complicated, so if you're up for it, you could save a lot by doing it yourself. Just a heads up: if you do hire a pro, you might be looking at a price between $1,500 and $2,000 depending on the job specifics.

Yeah, I agree. It’s simpler than it seems!

If you want to keep costs down, consider hiring a handyman instead of a plumber. They usually can do it for around $500, and honestly, it’s not that tough if you're thinking about going the DIY route.
