What can I plant in a sunny garden bed?

I'm new to gardening and currently at a rental property that has some mulched garden beds that are empty. These beds get full sun and face south, located in zone 6 in southwest Ohio. I'm considering planting beans or tomatoes but I'm concerned they might get scorched in the heat. Any recommendations for what I could plant in these conditions?

Beans and tomatoes should work really well in those sunny beds! As long as you don’t have a stretch of super hot days hitting over 90 degrees, they should thrive. Just remember to give them extra watering in the early morning or late evening if it gets really hot!
