I'm setting up some can lights over a new table in my craft room, and I've got good access to the attic space. I'm considering whether to go with remodel-type or new construction can lights. Do you think there's a clear advantage to one over the other in this situation? I've included links to examples of each type. Since I'll need to pull power from another fixture and run some wiring, I'm wondering what might be the best choice for my application. Thanks for any advice!

I'd recommend the new construction cans if you don't mind a bit of a challenge installing them. They do require some extra work, especially if you're going into your attic to nail them off, but they provide a solid install. If you've got easy attic access, it’s worth the effort! If you want a simpler setup, then remodel cans could work just fine since they don’t require as much access, but keep in mind they might not be as stable in the long run.
From my experience, new construction housings can be a pain to install, especially if you're already working with existing drywall. It can take longer, which means more time in the attic. However, once the wires are run and insulation cleared, you're done with the attic for remodel housings and that’s a huge plus! Just make sure your joist bays are wide enough for the tools. Also, smaller fixtures like 4-inch cans are trending over the more traditional sizes, like 5 or 6 inches, so keep that in mind!
