Could This Be Mold on My Crawlspace Walls?

Asked By UserXxY123 On

I have a crawlspace with cement walls and flooring, and I've noticed some black spots along with a few other colors on the walls for quite some time. My house was built back in 1951, and I've had various tradespeople like plumbers and electricians take a look, but no one has raised any concerns. I'm wondering if what I'm seeing could actually be mold, or if it might just be some sort of damp protective coating. Does anyone have insight or experience with this?

Not 100% sure about the mold, but check for mouse droppings too! I had a similar issue with rodent droppings in my insulation, which really freaked me out. You might want to take a look at that as well.

We went through that a few years ago! Saw a couple of them in the house, and after pest control came, they confirmed they were all gone. It was such a relief.

It’s tough to say for sure without seeing it up close, but those colors could definitely be mold. You might want to consider getting a mold test done just to be safe.

If you're concerned, grab a bottle of Mold Armor from a hardware store. It's super affordable and if it is mold, just spray it on and watch it disappear. I've been using it for years and it works like a charm!
