Hey everyone! I live in a twin with a great neighbor, but we have some loud kids and pretty thin walls, which doesn't help when it comes to storage and noise issues. I'm considering putting some built-in bookshelves against our shared wall to create more storage and maybe reduce the noise a bit. Do you think I could achieve similar storage and noise benefits with freestanding bookcases instead? I'm also looking into adding soundproof drywall for extra sound mitigation. Any thoughts?

I can't really comment on the noise part, but I have a wall that looks almost built-in using Ikea bookcases. They can give a nice, custom look without the hassle of actual built-ins. Just make sure to secure them to the wall for safety!

That sounds like a possible option! Do you have a specific type you recommend or is the classic Billy still the best choice?
