I'm looking for a long-lasting, low-maintenance option, and I also want to consider aesthetics, insulation, and noise reduction since I'm near a road. If you’re removing the old siding, then you’ll want to think about sheathing. Panels can be installed without sheathing, which might help with costs. Sheathing can improve some sound insulation, but remember, your windows might be the bigger culprits for noise.
