I recently took off my toilet's water tank to paint the bathroom, but now that I've reinstalled it, there's a slow leak. I'm guessing it might be the rubber washers inside the tank that got damaged. Does anyone know if that's a likely cause? If so, where can I find replacements – the plumbing section or the general hardware area? Thanks for any tips!

It sounds like you might need a tank-to-bowl gasket kit. That’s usually where leaks happen between the tank and the bowl. Better to replace the whole kit since a small leak can become a bigger issue later on! Make sure you check the bolts too, they might need replacing as well. Good luck!
I've dealt with this before! First, try tightening the connections a bit more. Just be careful; the porcelain can crack if you overdo it. If you’re still seeing a leak after that, it could be the tank-to-bowl gasket that needs replacing, which you can find at any hardware store.
You're spot on about the rubber washers! What’s likely happening is that they're worn out. I'd recommend getting both the tank washers and a tank-to-bowl gasket. You can usually find a combo pack that’s pretty cheap. Just grab your old parts and take them to the store; they’ll help you find the right replacements!
