Hey everyone! I'm currently regrouting my entire first floor for the second time after my first attempt failed. I think I messed up the grout and water ratio and didn't compact it enough, leading to a lot of chipping and discoloration after just a year. It's really bothering me. This time, I'm considering using premixed grout and making sure to really compact it during application. Any suggestions for a good premixed grout? Also, what are some better options for removing the old grout? The last time it took me 2-3 weeks with an oscillating saw, and it was super tough on my knees and hands.

I’d recommend trying Mapei Ultracolor—it works great and is quite popular. As for the compacting bit, it just means really pressing the grout into the gaps to ensure a solid fill. Also, I’m not a big fan of premixed grout because it doesn’t always set as strong as traditional mixes, but it can save time if you're careful. What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll look into Mapei Ultracolor. I get what you mean about premixed grout; it’s just easier for me to handle this time around.
