Hey everyone! I just bought a tomato grow kit for a buck because I thought it would be a fun way to start gardening this year. I know it might not be the best option, but I've heard tomatoes are relatively easy to grow. I'm looking for any advice you might have, especially since I'm in northwest PA. What should I keep in mind as I start this adventure?

Make sure to follow the instructions that come with the kit, and don’t hesitate to ask more questions as you go along. Also, keep an eye on your plants as they sprout; they might get leggy if they don’t have enough light! If you can, think about where you'll transplant them too, especially once they start getting taller. A 5-gallon container or even planting them in the ground is ideal.
Tomatoes are a fantastic choice for beginners! They can produce a lot of fruit even with just a few plants. Just make sure to give your sprouts plenty of sunlight as soon as they start growing — they can get droopy if they're stuck indoors for too long. Also, try to move them outside when the weather is nice! You’ll see them thrive right away.
If you can, share a photo of what you got in your kit! It’ll be easier for others to give you tips tailored to your setup. Also, tomato seeds usually last a few years, so you should be good even if the kit was a few bucks. Just check if it says if your tomatoes are 'determinate' or 'indeterminate' as that will affect how you care for them.
