Can a Thermal Imager Effectively Locate Framing, Electrical Wiring, and PEX Lines?

Hey everyone! I'm a cabinet maker working for a mid-sized company and I often handle installations. Recently, my team and I have been facing some challenges that our usual methods can't seem to fix. I'm curious if a thermal imaging camera could help us locate framing, electrical wiring, and PEX waterlines, both hot and cold? Most of our work is in new construction, and sometimes the electrical is off at the breaker or the water lines have very little usage. If anyone has tips on cost-effective solutions or can share pictures of what thermal imaging might reveal in walls, that would be amazing. Thanks!

Walabot is a good choice; it works well on drywall. It’s one of the few options that claims to detect PVC too. Honestly, I don’t even need to know exactly what’s in the wall – if it shows anything other than a stud, I'm not drilling there. I’ve had issues with installers putting screws into PEX lines that went through studs without protection, and it's super frustrating when we're left to deal with the aftermath.

Yeah, that sounds like a nightmare! It's definitely important to track where those lines are to avoid damage.
