Hey everyone! I live in zone 6a in New York and I'm curious about when it's the best time to start growing lettuce. Should I start it indoors or can I plant it outdoors? I was thinking mid-April could be a good time to start planting outdoors. What do you think?

In my experience, you can start lettuce any time in early spring. Since you’re in zone 6a, mid-April sounds spot on for outdoor planting! I just started mine last week, and fingers crossed it goes well! I typically start seeds indoors a few weeks earlier, around late March, just to get a head start.

Are you starting them indoors or is that for direct sowing outdoors?
