Why haven’t my soaked tomato seeds sprouted after two weeks?

I recently decided to soak my tomato seeds before planting, which is something I've never done before. Now they've been in my greenhouse under a SeedMate dome for two weeks, and there's still no sign of them sprouting. Did I ruin them by soaking? Last year, I got great results with my grow lights, so maybe I should give that another shot?

What temperature are you keeping them at? If it's too warm, that could be an issue too. Sometimes seeds prefer specific conditions to germinate well.

Not sure on the exact temp, but it's definitely warm in there. Could that be the problem?

How long did you soak your seeds? 24 hours should be fine, but always check where you got the seeds. I'm not too worried about Walmart; Burpee is usually a solid brand!

Yep, 24 hours soaking. I trust Burpee seeds, but now I'm wondering if I should have done something differently!

Two weeks is quite a while for them not to sprout! It's possible they got too dry after you soaked them. Did you keep them consistently moist? Also, using a spray bottle instead of bottom watering could have affected them. Just make sure the soil remains damp, especially after soaking!

Yeah, I've read that letting them dry out can definitely slow down germination!
