Hey everyone! I just bought a charming 1960's house and uncovered some gorgeous white oak floors that were hiding under an old carpet. The issue I'm facing now is that the previous owners cut the doors short to fit over the carpet, and now there's a noticeable gap beneath most of them. I really don't want to replace all the doors since some sizes are unusual and custom doors would be way too expensive for us first-time buyers. Does anyone have creative solutions or ideas to help me out? If you have photos of your fixes, I'd love to see them too!

Have you considered installing a threshold? They can fill the gaps nicely and there are some low-profile options that look great! You can check out places like Home Depot for ideas, like this one: [Threshold Link](https://www.homedepot.com/p/M-D-Building-Products-3-1-2-in-x-3-4-in-x-36-in-Natural-Hardwood-Low-Profile-Threshold-for-Doorways-11742/100353474).
I feel your pain! What I did was remove the doors and attach a strip of wood underneath. If your doors are white, you can easily caulk and paint them to match, and if they’re wood, you might have to be a bit careful with the stain, but it’s doable. I also found a helpful YouTube video that others in your situation might find useful: [YouTube Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgP4pJDBUlE).
You could try adding door sweeps to the bottom of the doors. They attach easily and are usually designed for exterior doors, so they can give your interiors a little extra length. If you pick a color that matches your doors, they’ll blend right in!

You could also get creative and make something similar using a fancy trim with a cheap spacer. I did that with the trim in my bathroom, and it's really impressed guests! Just a little bling can make it feel custom without costing a fortune.
