I've been caring for my late mother-in-law's peony and I'm a bit anxious about whether I'm doing it right. It's really important to my wife, and I want to make sure I'm putting in the right effort. Can anyone help?

You're actually in the wrong place for peony advice! Peonies are perennials that grow best outdoors from big roots. Is your peony currently in a pot or planted outside?
Yeah, peonies generally don’t thrive indoors unless you have some serious setup like grow lights. They really should be outside to flourish. You might want to check out a local gardening subreddit for help specific to your area, especially if you're in a region with gardening communities, like r/pnwgardening for the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks a lot! I’m totally new to this and really keen to learn more.

It’s been in a pot for about 3 years while we were renting, but now we're in a house where I can plant it.
