I'm considering adding either a neon pothos or a lemon lime philodendron to my plant collection. They're both stunning, but I'm really trying to figure out which one is simpler to maintain. Do you think the pothos family is generally easier to manage than philodendrons? If we were to think of them as rival mob families, which one would be simpler to keep happy? Also, any thoughts on which specific varieties tend to be the 'mob bosses' in each group? I'd say golden pothos is definitely the top boss in the pothos crew, but I'm curious about the philodendrons!

I have the opposite experience! My neon pothos can be a bit of a drama queen, but my lemon lime philodendrons are thriving without any fuss. Definitely leaning towards the philodendron for low-maintenance charm!
I think some varieties of philodendrons can be tricky, but I’ve never met a challenging pothos. They’ve pretty much all been easy-going for me. My golden pothos has survived everything, and I’ve had it since 2005!
Wow, that’s impressive! I’m just realizing that my 'silver pothos' is actually a Scindapsus pictus, so maybe that’s why it's a bit more finicky. Good to know that pothos hold up so well!
Honestly, I’ve found philodendrons to be surprisingly tough! I’m still a pretty new plant parent, but these guys have held up well even when I skip a watering or two. They're pretty forgiving!
That’s good to hear! I keep hearing about how philodendrons can be tricky, so it’s nice to know they can handle a bit of neglect.

That's interesting! I thought pothos were known for being pretty easy. It sounds like everyone has their own experience!
