I'm setting up a playground for my daughter, but here's the catch—we live in Texas, and our backyard is all concrete. While it's nice and shady, I want to make sure the ground is soft enough in case she falls while playing. Does anyone have suggestions for safe flooring options? I'm particularly concerned about the heat since it gets really hot here and I don't want something that could melt.

Mulch is definitely a great option! It’s super easy to remove if you ever want to change things up, and it stays much cooler than other materials in the summer. Plus, it's a nice natural look for the outdoor space!
I get that all-concrete backyard struggle! I mean, Texas is known for hotter temps, so you might find it a bit surprising. Just make sure whatever you choose keeps your little one safe and cool!
Consider using poured rubber flooring like what newer playgrounds have. There's a product called Playsafe, but just search for poured rubber playground options in your area. Make sure to choose a high-quality material with UV stabilizers and a lighter color to help with the Texas heat!
