How can I fix a bumpy paint job in my bathroom?

I recently remodeled my bathroom from the ground up myself and it turned out great. However, my father-in-law took it upon himself to handle the drywall and painting, which didn't go as smoothly. While the drywall installation looks decent, the paint finish has significant imperfections with pitted and bumpy spots in quite a few areas. I'm wondering if I can simply sand it down and repaint, or if there's more I need to do, like filling or additional prep work before painting. I have some pictures to show the work, but I'm unsure how to share them here.

You should be able to sand and repaint without too much trouble. Just make sure to figure out whether it was a mud/tape issue or if the paint wasn’t applied well. Addressing the root cause will save you time in the long run!

If the issues are just bumpy spots, sanding them down and repainting should do the trick. However, if it's a lot lumpier, you're in for a bit of a project with some serious mudding and sanding ahead. It might take more time than you expect!

Looking at your pictures, it seems like the paint job was rushed, which might be causing all those bumps and imperfections. If the paint has a high sheen, it’s going to show off every flaw. You might need to sand the worst spots and repaint the whole wall to ensure everything looks even and polished. A duller, less shiny color can help hide these flaws a bit more too!
