I'm thinking about investing in a 20-inch battery chainsaw to help me cut up firewood, as I typically go through about 4 cords each year. I like the idea of using two 8-amp forge batteries for a clean and efficient saw. However, I'm curious whether battery technology is still advancing since I haven't seen these saws on sale. Any thoughts or experiences you can share?

Battery saws are definitely improving and getting better every year. Unless you're a pro logger, I think this 20-inch model will suit your needs perfectly. I used to be all about gas saws, but I switched to a Kobalt 40V model years ago and haven't looked back. I bet the Milwaukee model you're looking at is even better!
I've got a Milwaukee M18 with a 16" bar, and it's been great! Just a heads up, it does go through batteries pretty quickly. But the power's nice. If you're cutting firewood at home, I think you'll be happy with a battery saw.
I was considering the smaller saw too, but I realize it needs to be more powerful to avoid stalling. Just something to keep in mind!
