How to Handle Soil Compaction in a No-Till Garden?

I really enjoy the no-till gardening method, but I've run into a problem with certain areas in my garden becoming compacted, particularly after heavy rain. Since tilling isn't an option for me, I'm looking for effective techniques to gradually loosen the soil without disrupting its natural structure too much. What are some methods you all recommend?

A fork-spade can really make a difference. It's a great tool for loosening compacted soil without disturbing it too much.

Adding compost and encouraging earthworms can help too! I've seen some interesting vermiculture techniques on YouTube that might give you some ideas!

I like using broad forks for low till practices. They lift the soil just enough to keep the structure intact and maintain the benefits of mycorrhiza. This helps the soil loosen up naturally over time and retains water better, plus it allows for reoxygenation.
