I'm considering making a 6-hour trip to buy a mower along with two 12.0 batteries and a dual rapid charger for a total of $400. Locally, the same setup is priced at $600. I'm wondering if this is a smart move for reselling it. Has anyone had experience with flipping tools like this? What should I be aware of in terms of pricing and marketability?

Honestly, driving that far just to save $200 might not be the best idea. If you're not getting a significant discount, people might just prefer to buy new from stores. If you manage to snag it for, say, $300 and list it for $700, you could have better luck. Just keep in mind that buyers often try to negotiate down.
You can flip new items on marketplace, but to make it worth the trip, you should offer a noticeable discount. For example, I sold some blowers for $80 each that I got for way less, compared to their retail price. From what I see, the mower pricing might not leave you enough room for a good markup.
The value really comes down to what people are willing to pay. If you believe this setup is a solid deal for the trip, then go for it. But just remember, when it comes to flipping, you might need to lower the price to attract buyers. Make sure you're clear on your minimum price before you buy!
Totally get what you mean! I know the deal seems good, but I’m worried about how much of a discount I should offer to actually sell it.

I’m looking at grabbing 5 mowers at $400 each. Considering gas and tax, it could work out, right?
