Is My Delivered Manure Rotted Enough or Did I Get Scammed?

I just had 1200 liters of what was advertised as 'well rotted farmyard manure' delivered, but it doesn't smell at all—more like compost. Is this normal or did they mess up my order?

I've had my fair share of rotted manure deliveries, and it’s always smelled earthy and compost-like. The funky smell comes from fresh manure, but the well-rotted stuff is just fine!

That’s actually a good sign! Well-rotted manure should be mostly odorless and resemble compost rather than smelling like fresh manure. It sounds like you received exactly what you wanted!

Awesome! Thanks for the reassurance, this is my first time ordering manure ?

You're in luck! It shouldn’t smell at that stage; well-rotted manure is safe for your garden as it won't burn your plants like fresh can. Sounds like you got the good stuff!
