How Can I Get Rid of Couch Grass in My Garden?

Hey everyone! I'm located in North Georgia, either zone 7 or 8, and I have a half acre homestead where I grow vegetables and have a small fruit tree orchard. I've tried putting down cardboard and mulching with arborist mulch multiple times, but this stubborn couch grass keeps coming back. What should I do to get rid of it? Any tips would be appreciated!

Ugh, couch grass can be really tricky to deal with. Hand removal is actually one of the most effective methods, especially for those pesky grasses that spread through runners or rhizomes. I’d recommend using a digging fork or pitchfork to loosen the soil as you pull it out, making sure to follow the roots to get the whole thing. It takes some time, but it can work if you stay persistent with it!

Yeah, that's what I’ve been trying, but it feels like I’m chasing it all over the place! Sometimes I wonder if I'm even making progress.
