How Can I Keep My Dog Out of the Garden?

Asked By dOgLuv3r93 On

My dog has been digging in our raised bed garden, and we suspect that he's the culprit based on the footprints we find. This has happened twice now, and unfortunately, we didn't catch him in the act. I'm looking for some effective tricks or strategies to prevent him from getting into the garden.

I recently bought a "no dig fence" from Lowes, and it's been fantastic. We strengthened it with rebar stakes for extra stability and even got a matching gate! It looks nice and keeps the dogs out, which is a relief since our Aussie was messing with our irrigation lines. A quick search online will give you plenty of styles to choose from!

Yeah, I was hoping for an alternative to fences, but it sounds effective. Thanks for sharing!

A solid fence might be your best bet. You can also create a specific dog digging area to redirect his energy. Training him to understand that the garden is off-limits could help too.

Honestly, I think a fence is the most logical and effective solution here. It might feel like the only option, but it often works best.
