I just bought a trophy case online, and I'm having some trouble with the screws. The case has aluminum doors that prop up, but the screws don't seem to tighten properly. Some of the pilot holes are too large, causing the screws to just slip through, while others allow the screw to go in but keep spinning without tightening. The manufacturer isn't being very helpful, so I'm considering fixing this myself. Should I try using larger screws and drill new holes, or is there a better solution? It seems like the screws should be catching on the threads of the pilot holes, but that's not happening.

Have you checked if the screws are meant to be used with nuts and bolts instead? Sometimes they’re not just screws alone. Just a thought!
If the pilot holes are too big, going up a screw size can help, but make sure to drill carefully! Just a heads up, you might want to use a thread-locking adhesive once you get them in to keep them secure. Also, if you can, try to get a better look with a buddy; sometimes an extra set of eyes gives you new ideas!
Good idea! I’ll grab a friend to help and see how it goes!

Nope, it’s definitely just screws for my setup.
