Best Ways to Clean Moss Off My Terrace?

Asked By TerraceTamer42 On

Hey everyone! I've got this green stuff growing all over my terrace on the last floor of my apartment, which is in Spain. I'm looking for the best methods to clean it up and what I should use to seal the floor afterward. Any tips would be appreciated!

It looks like you might have uncoated terracotta there. I recommend checking out your local garden center for a product designed specifically for removing moss from porous surfaces. Vinegar and salt can be reactive and might damage your terracotta, which is more delicate compared to concrete or stone. These moss removal products are usually available in Spain too!

You could also try a combination of baking soda and vinegar. But from my experience, using salt with vinegar works better to dry out anything that the vinegar doesn't kill!

I think using salt is better, it really helps with drying things out!

To take care of that green stuff, try mixing white vinegar with coarse salt in a 50/50 solution (water and vinegar, then add salt until it won't dissolve anymore). Just spray it on a sunny day, and it should dry out and die away!

Does it matter what type of vinegar? I heard some kinds can be more effective than others.
