Sidewalk Pulling Away from House – How Can I Fix the Gap?

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a situation where my sidewalk is slowly pulling away from the side of my house, creating a gap that's about 2 inches wide in some spots. This has become a real concern because water is getting through these gaps, causing erosion issues underneath, which is only making things worse. I've noticed that the previous owner used caulk to fill in some spaces, but I need a solution that won't just brighten the gap further with white or black caulk. I'm not able to hire someone to replace the sidewalk, so I'm looking for some practical ideas or materials that could help seal the gap.

I’d suggest using a foam backer rod to fill the majority of the gap, then add a self-leveling polyurethane expansion joint sealant. You can find it in the concrete repair section of most hardware stores. It’ll be gray, which helps it blend in better, and it’s flexible enough to handle movement between the sidewalk and house. It won’t solve the issue permanently, but it should hold up for a while!

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I’ve heard about the foam rods before. Sounds like a solid plan.
