How Can I Make a Large Ceramic Door Stop?

I'm a potter working on creating a door stop and I'm looking for ideas. It needs to be fairly large to effectively hold a door open. Has anyone tried making something similar? I'm guessing it should be hollow to allow for filling with a heavy material, but I'm not sure what the best approach is.

You could make it like a piggy bank with a hole at the bottom. Just insert a sandwich bag, fill it with sand, and then seal it up with a plug. That way, you have a heavy door stop and it looks pretty neat too!

Oh, that’s such a clever idea! An upside-down pot would keep it hidden nicely!
