Are These Gaps Normal After a New Roof?

Hey everyone! I recently had my roof replaced, including all the plywood and some fascia due to wood rot. Now, I've noticed some gaps between the soffit and fascia that let me see the plywood. I'm also concerned because my wife and I have found what seems to be rodent droppings inside the house. Is this gap something I should worry about? Should I talk to the roofer about it? If anyone has advice on whether these gaps are common or how to fix this issue, I'd really appreciate it!

It looks like those gaps might have been there before the new roof went on, but that doesn't mean they should be overlooked. Small gaps can sometimes happen, but they could definitely invite pests in. I'd highly recommend contacting your roofer and discussing your concerns. They might need to come back and seal those gaps up to prevent any critters from getting in. Don't let it slide!

Totally agree! Sealing those gaps is crucial. You can use spray foam insulation for smaller gaps or caulk for more precise areas. Just make sure it's a weatherproof kind!

Gaps can be common, but it's important to have them checked to avoid future issues. I had similar gaps in my roof after a replacement, and I brought it up with my contractor. They were able to fix it with some sealing and added insulation, which helped a lot. It's never too late to address these issues!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely reach out to the contractor and see what they can do.
