Why isn’t my Festool interface pad sticking to the sander?

I've gone through two interface pads for my Festool sander now, and both seem to lose their grip after only a little bit of use. Is it something I'm doing wrong, or are these pads known for wearing out quickly?

It sounds like you might be using the wrong type of discs with your sander. Have you tried using net discs? From my experience, the Velcro hooks can degrade faster when paired with regular paper, which could lead to the interface pad not sticking properly. They’re a lot cheaper than replacing the sander pad, though, so it's a good idea to stick with those if you can.

Just to clarify, are you using the Festool paper? If the paper sticks to the interface pad but that pad isn't holding onto the sander itself, that could definitely be a concern. Maybe try cleaning the Velcro on both the pad and the sander regularly. That might help with the adhesion!
