Can I Safely Eat Vegetables From a Raised Bed My Cat Used as a Litter Box?

So, my storm door broke recently, and my cat managed to sneak out a few times. Unfortunately, he did his business in my raised bed—not once, but multiple times. Now I'm wondering, is it safe for me to eat the veggies grown in there? Should I just wait a season before harvesting? Any tips would be super helpful!

As long as your cat is healthy, it’s not something to stress over too much. Just to be super safe, you could get a stool sample checked by your vet. And don't worry about the urine—that’s not a big concern.

But remember, he pooped too! Doesn’t that change things?

Honestly, you should be fine to eat the veggies. The general consensus is that if your cat’s healthy, it's not a big deal. Just make sure to wash them thoroughly before eating!

Yeah, I heard some concerns about toxoplasmosis, but since he’s not an outdoor cat, it’s probably less of an issue.
