I've noticed that the M18 and M12 rapid chargers can get quite warm while charging batteries. Coming from using Makita chargers that have incorporated fan cooling since they switched to lithium batteries, I'm wondering if Milwaukee has similar features. Specifically, is it only the high-end dual bay super charger that includes a fan for cooling?

I wouldn't worry too much unless the batteries get super hot, like melting point hot. From what I know, the M18 batteries aren't as tightly sealed, so heat should escape without an issue. Generally, it takes more than just warmth to pose a real risk—like clogged vents or battery management system malfunctions. That rapid charger uses a lot of power, especially since it's charging up two batteries simultaneously, which could explain the heat.
Yes, the dual bay rapid charger does come with a fan. I primarily use the 1807 3 bay rapid charger, and my batteries never seem to get warm enough to raise any alarms during charging. The packs I use frequently, like the 6.0 and 4.0, do charge quickly without overheating. Are you experiencing issues with specific battery sizes getting warm, or is it a general concern?

I just switched to M18, and I have one of each, the 8.0 Forge and the XC5.0, but I've only charged them once so far. The Forge got warmer than my Makitas ever have, honestly! I'm kind of an obsessive type, so I want to let them cool down after heavy use before charging again. I've noticed my M12 batteries were warmer off the rapid charger too. I doubt they'll catch fire, but still, it feels like there should be a better cooling solution in place.
