Hey everyone! I'm curious about where you all do your carving projects. I usually carve outside when the weather is nice and move to the garage when it's cold. However, I haven't worked on a project in a while because my wife hasn't been well, and I prefer to spend my time nearby when she's not outside or in the garage. I'm looking for some inspiration to get back into it!

I have a special carving bench set up in my den where I can keep everything tidy. I use a dog pen gate to contain the shavings. When it's nice out, I love heading out to the woods with my Jeep and a comfy chair to carve in peace. It's the best way to unwind and enjoy the scenery while working on my projects!
I live by the coast and carve a lot on my porch, soaking in the view of birds and boats. When it gets chilly, I take it to the garage. I also like working from my office when needed, but the outdoors is definitely where I thrive!
I do most of my small projects at my computer, but it's a bit messy there since I tend to get sawdust everywhere. I try to clean up by doing the final sanding on my patio to avoid too much mess inside.
I usually carve spoons out near my garbage bins for quick cleanup. When I’m indoors, I try to carve while watching TV, using a towel to catch the chips. On sunny days, I love to sit in the backyard and enjoy the light while I work.

When you say it's messy, do you mean you get a lot of shavings everywhere? I did that too, but I switched to working over a trash can to catch the mess.
