I'm working on a project where I'm setting up a rock bubbler feature with a 2ft round pond. My idea is to repurpose an old wrought iron table by cutting off its legs, which would give me a sturdy base to place some small boulders and rocks on. The umbrella hole in the middle is perfect for running the water hose. The pond will be buried level with the ground, but my dad reminded me that I'll need to take out the pump come winter. I'm looking for suggestions on how to cover the top of the pond so I can place the rocks on it, while still making it easy to access the pump when needed. Any ideas?

If you have access to a grinder, you can cut a square hole above where the pump is. Secure one side of the square piece with zip ties and use a couple more on the other side as a hinge. This way, it can support gravel and gives you easy access to the pump without much hassle. It's what we usually do with non-pre-cut basin covers.
Consider getting a round BBQ grill that has sections on the sides that can flip up. You can cover the flaps with larger rocks, which means you'll only need to move fewer rocks when accessing the pond. This could work great for your setup!
That sounds like a great idea! I might check out the Weber 24" charcoal grill grate since it comes with those flip-up sides.
