Can I Add Compost to My Raised Beds Before the Rain?

I'm planning to top off my raised garden beds with compost today since I have some free time. However, I noticed it rained last night, and there's another 0.9 inches of rain expected this week. My concern is whether the rain will wash away the nutrients in the compost. Should I hold off on adding it until after the rain passes? Thanks for any advice!

Don't stress about nutrient loss. I've done the same before planting in spring, and it worked out great. The rain actually helps with the compost breaking down. Go ahead and add it!

It's totally fine to add compost now! A bit of rain won't wash away all the nutrients as long as the compost is well mixed into the soil. Just make sure it’s spread out evenly. You’ll be all set for a great growing season!
