Hey everyone! I'm looking for some solid advice on replacement windows, specifically between Pella and Renewal by Andersen. I've never bought windows before and feel a bit lost. Here's the deal: My current windows are about 20 years old and made by Peachtree, which is out of business now, but they've held up surprisingly well. Since I live in a neighborhood with homes worth over a million, I want to make sure I invest in quality windows. I've narrowed it down to these two companies, with quotes around $50k for roughly 14 windows. The Pella rep was great—very professional and direct, offering their Reserve line which comes with a lifetime warranty but is still quite pricey. On the flip side, Renewal by Andersen's pitch felt more like a hard sell and raised some red flags for me. Could anyone share their experiences? I'm especially curious about: 1) Is the Pella Reserve worth the extra cost? 2) Is Renewal's composite really better or just hype? 3) How do these companies stack up in terms of customer service and longevity? 4) Which one would suit a high-value home better for resale? Thanks a lot for your help!

In my experience in the residential construction field, Pella is definitely the way to go over Renewal by Andersen, especially for resale value. I also think Sierra Pacific and Marvin offer amazing quality for the price. Just did a major remodel with Sierra Pacific windows and paid about $75k for 36 windows installed, which is a solid deal. You usually see costs ranging from $2k to $3k per window depending on size and type.
You might want to consider local companies with great reviews instead of RBA. They often provide better quality at a lower price because they don't spend as much on marketing as bigger brands do.
Honestly, I'd steer clear of Renewal by Andersen. They have a reputation for high-pressure sales tactics, kind of like a used car dealership. You should be looking at about $2k per window, fully installed. I’d recommend getting estimates from local window businesses instead; they often have better prices and products.
