Hey everyone, I've been having issues with my dishwasher lately. It was working perfectly for over a year since I replaced it, but now every time I run it, water starts pouring out from the air gap. I took the drain pipe apart and cleaned everything thoroughly—both ends including the garbage disposal and air gap—yet the problem persists. I'm wondering if the length or placement of the drain pipe could be causing this. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

You might want to try disconnecting the drain line from the garbage disposal just to test it out. Run it up to the sink drain and see if the water still comes out of the air gap. This way, you'll be able to isolate the issue from the disposal onward. Also, make sure the air gap isn't clogged either.
It sounds like you've done a lot already to troubleshoot, but let's make sure you checked everything. Did you clean the air gap itself? Sometimes they get clogged, and even if it looks clean from the outside, the cap might have junk stuck in it. If you’ve cleaned both sides and it’s still an issue, consider replacing the air gap. They can get gross over time, filled with soap residue and food. Also, check the entire line from the air gap to the disposal for any hidden clogs.
Yes, I did clean both ends and the entire line, even flushed it with clean water. But I didn't look inside the air gap itself. Replacing it might be worth a try!
