Best Times to Garden to Avoid Wasps

Hey folks! I'm fairly new to gardening and I started my garden last year. I've noticed that I get really anxious around wasps, which has been affecting my ability to garden. I'm wondering if there's a specific time of day when I can garden that might help me avoid running into them. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Also, just to clarify, I totally get that wasps are beneficial for gardens, so I'm not seeking ways to deter them.

If you're looking for that sweet spot, very early mornings are your best bet! You know, like just around sunrise. It's when the wasps are still pretty inactive.

The best times to garden while minimizing wasp encounters are early in the morning or late in the evening when the temperatures are cooler. Wasps tend to be less active during these times. Also, avoid wearing any scented products since they might mistake you for a flower! If you see a wasp, just stay calm and still; they'll usually move on without bothering you.

I've been gardening for 30 years and only got stung three times—pretty good if you ask me! I always wear gloves when moving pots or bags. The stings can be shocking, so ice the spot immediately if you do get stung! And yeah, definitely keep some Benadryl handy, just to be safe since I’m allergic to bees myself!
